Trimming shears for deep-drawn parts
In process of manufacturing plastic deep-drawn parts, the border zone has to be removed after the deep-drawing process which is usually realized with exact milling. However, the deep-drawn part can only be stress-free milled after the border zone where the component was clamped got removed beforehand.
To trim the border of deep-drawn parts before milling, a special eccentric shear has been developed. The one-piece hold down manufactured close to the cut acts as a stop, so trimming very close to the shaping is possible.
The opening of the hold-down is manufactured just as thick as the material which needs to be cut. If the opening of the hold down needs to be more than 6 mm, a special safety system with a horizontal light beam safety device will be realized to prevent the worker from reaching into the danger zone of the hold down, but allows the worker to feed the machine.
Also, a special table with notches allows trimming the positive deep-drawn parts as well as the negative deep-drawn parts. The table surface can be configurated via exchangeable plastic blocks to the geometry of the deep-drawn part.
Besides the trimming of plastic parts, with this shear it is of course possible to cut the border areas of deep-drawn metal parts like sinks or bathtubs. Due to the thin metal parts, the hold down can be adjusted lowly and therefore, no complex safety system is needed. The hold down itself acts as a protection device to prevent workers from reaching into the danger zone of the blades.
